Let's see what happens here. I'm really not expecting anything, but...
Lindsey and I are moving in the next couple of weeks. You know what means - giveaways!
Right now, I'm giving away a set of Pioneer speakers. Now, they are pretty old, probably from the late 80s. But they are Pioneer speakers. They have a dark brown finish on 'em and they are about three feet high by about a foot and a half wide... so they are pretty large. The sound outta there is very nice.
We're looking to get rid of 'em because, and let's face it, stereos are dying. I'm still hanging onto my CD player and receiver, but I just don't see the need to lug around these speakers that we will probably never use. I got a ton of use outta 'em before the marriage, but we just don't have a need for a bangin' stereo system. In all honesty, iTunes works just fine (and that is a sad realization!), as do the tiny JBL speakers with the desktop.
So if anyone is looking for some reliable speakers that, even though they are old, still sound great, I have the hook up. I can easily meet up with anyone on the weekends and I'm looking to part with 'em by the end of the month. No charge for 'em what-so-ever. If you're looking to drive, I'm in Newnan, so take that for what it's worth. But I can drop 'em off easily if that's what needs to happen.
I'm thinking that I'm going to have to part with my cassette deck as well, but I'm holding onto that because of my love of analog goodies. When it comes down to it, I'll probably part with that as well. So if anyone is also interested in a neat cassette deck (brand is Technics, I believe), let me know and we can arrange a meeting for that as well! Email is foocow@gmail.com.

OK, so I'm listening to iTunes on shuffle and all of a sudden Wesley Willis comes on and I'm all excited because he's awesome and he liked to headbutt people. Well, I'm trying to blog and stuff and then I'm blown away by the slogan that he incorporated into the end of "Feel the Power of Rock and Roll".
Packard Bell - The World's Number One Selling Computer
I think Packard Bell was one of the first computers I had, with a ridiculously fast 14.4 kbps modem. And I thought they were all over the place - hence the number-one-selling-computer bit. Then they disappeared. Whatever Happened To Packard Bell (punk song)? (BRMC joke there, kids.)
Usually I'm not blown away by Mr. Willis' knowledge of marketing slogans. In fact, I'm very impressed at his willingness to pull something new out of a hat EVERY TIME. But for "Feel the Power...", I was finally caught off guard. Maybe it's just me and my sentimentality with Packard Bell (because that 14.4 sent me a long way!) that kicked into overdrive, but whatevs.
Props to you, Mr. Wesley Willis, for bringing me back all over again.

either the ladytron i like is terrible by comparison to their newer stuff, or the ladytron i like is ridiculously good as opposed to the garbage that they continually release (since 604). i'm sticking with the latter.
seriously, why did this group start sucking so much?

Hello, LiveJournal.
I've been away for a while. And that's OK, really. I've been engaged for some time now and am getting married in a little more than a month. Who would've thought, right? With all of the emo spillage and written diarrhea from a few years ago, it's hard to believe that things actually fell together and my life is starting to form something cohesive. I mean, marriage is a big deal, right?
Certainly!
Of all of the friendships and heartaches I've endured over the past few years (or a lifetime, really), I can say that nothing compares to this whole "OMG, I'm getting married" deal. I really don't want that to come off as something rather flippant, and I often fear that when I interact with anyone about anything that I'm passionate about, it comes across as disinterest or apathy or anything of that sort. My whole experience with "expressiveness" (if you will) kinda stemmed from you, LiveJournal, and I guess I might have to thank you for that?
This kind of, er, "problem" still exists to this very day and it's a battle I'm willing to fight for a lifetime. I'm just incredibly thankful that there's someone there who's there to help me out throughout the process of trying to figure myself out, along with this thing called, uh, LIFE. I couldn't have a better parter in this and that's worth more than anything... EVER.
Basically, I don't know what else to tell you, LiveJournal. I'm not running for the hills just yet, hand-in-hand with the love of my life for eternity. You'll still be around when I need you and I'm sure I'll need you. I just can't believe that I'm entering a new part of this cycle and you have little to no knowledge of this. But, really, that's ok. Things are best when lived. I can't expect to have a healthy relationship though the keys and the clicking of a mouse (how archaic!). I'm glad that things are the way they are and I'm not looking to change that.
Maybe in the coming weeks, I'll keep you "in the know" about what's about to happen. As of right now, the wedding is just over a month away. We have an apartment that's working its way toward "home" status. And Hawaii is in the near future, too. The lady and I have also fought the fight of fights - ants. Needless to say, we came out on top and we're ready for the next onslaught that will attempt to topple us. "If ants can't do it, nothing will," I say.
It's been a fun ride while it lasted, LiveJournal, and I appreciate it that you wanted to right shotgun. You were always my favorite roommate, my best co-pilot, and my number one fan. You put up with a lot and helped me sort it all out... or at least some of it. Hell, you never complained whenever I tried to rave or slam-dance! That's incredible!
I've had three drinks tonite, LiveJournal. It's time I pass the bottle for a bit and have you savor the moment. Here's to you, "ell jay" (tee-hee), and all that you meant and stood for in the few years we were well-acquainted.
THNKS FR TH MMRS.
